We
encourage all UL Lafayette students to visit the University Art
Museum.
When you present your UL identification card you will be admitted
free of charge.
We
ask that you please adhere to the following guidelines
that are required of all persons who visit our museum:
- Due to a
possible conflict between the use of camera phones and copyright
laws, we ask that all cell phones be turned off and put away while
in the museum.
- Cameras
are not allowed to be used while in the museum.
- To assist
in the control of the insect population and to protect the works
of art, food and drinks are not allowed in the museum.
- In order
to protect works of art, backpacks and oversize bags are to be
placed in the secured museum coat checkroom.
- Drawing
and sketching is allowed in the galleries provided other guests
are not inconvenienced, and we maintain compliance with the fire
code.
- Maximum
size for a drawing or sketching pad is 18”X24”.
- No
pens are allowed in the museum galleries. Pencils are acceptable.
- Additional
seating in the form of portable stools is available for you to
carry from gallery to gallery. Remember to allow other visitors
access to the works of art.
Other
considerations that we ask you to observe while visiting our museum:
- Please keep
voice levels low so that other visitors are not disturbed.
- Works of
art are extremely sensitive and are to be visually observed. Please
do not touch works of art.
- Please do
not touch or lean on the museum's painted and glass walls.
- We ask that
you refrain from hanging over or leaning on balcony railings.
Please
visit the James W. Bean Museum Store, which offers a 10%
discount to all UL students, faculty, and staff, as well
as museum members. Our bookstore has a wonderful selection notecards,
gifts, jewelry, gift items and books on art, architecture, and design.
We now feature a selection of publications from the University of
Louisiana Press.
We
look forward to having you as our guest.
Thank
you for your cooperation. |
