TODDLER TUESDAYS

Every Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Toddler Tuesday at the Hilliard provides an environment on the second floor of the museum for young children to play with our collection of toys, puzzles and educational games. Story time is between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Museum volunteers share a selection from our children's book collection. FIND MORE INFORMATION HERE!

CREATIVE CLASSROOM

This spring the Hilliard Museum in partnership with the UL Lafayette College of Education Teacher Candidates Teacher Candidates will present Creative Classroom for Young Learners.  Future teachers provided a series of stories and lessons to include hands on activities appropriate for ages PK - 3rd graders. The program is FREE. Join us for the following Creative Classroom events.

The Louisiana Collection from the Hilliard's Permanent Collection January 21 - Dec. 15, 2012
Highlights from the collection covering two centuries of art in Louisiana. This exhibition juxtaposes pieces from the Museum's permanent collections of Louisiana artists, regional, national, and international artists. It is intended to treat visitors to the breadth and variety of the Museum's holdings. This ongoing exhibit will be updated from time to time to highlight the uniqueness of the collection.

Satire, Scandal, and Spectacle: the Art of George Schmidt - Jan. 21 - May 26, 2012
An engaging storyteller both visually and aurally, New Orleans artist George Schmidt brings to life myths, tales, and scandals from Louisiana history in his provocative paintings, prints, and drawings. This exhibition will showcase the many examples of Schmidt's visual elucidation on Louisiana characters, scandals, myths, and musings along with his mélange of Roman history and Louisiana personalities. History and the present come to life in the artist's deft hands.

Morgan as Mentor - 1965-1998 Oct. 1, 2011- May 19, 2012
A survey of work created by artists who credit Elemore Morgan, Jr. as a teacher and mentor.

9 - 5 Tuesday through Thursday. 9 to noon on Friday, 10- 5 Saturday. Closed on Sunday, Monday, and all major holidays.
