The new Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum is a cultural beacon for Acadiana, with its exhibitions and public programs integrated into the life of the community as inextricably as its schools, churches, recreational facilities and theaters. The Museum encourages visitors to regard art as an important part of their lives.

The Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum is a dynamic, education-oriented museum that is a center for interdisciplinary training. It enriches the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's educational mission in service to students, faculty, staff, community volunteers and area school children, as well as the local residents and visitors to Acadiana.

The new building enables the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum to present compelling exhibitions that offer audiences a dramatic look at the timeless influence of art. The Museum presents great works of the past and challenge conventional artistic thinking by presenting the work of artists who are making significant contributions today.

For the first time, the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum has the proper facilities to collect, preserve, interpret, disseminate, and study significant visual art and artifacts from ancient times to the present.
