Charles E. Richard Discusses ‘Tristram Shandy'
and Mockumentaries'
at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum
Lafayette- The November Brown Bag Lunch Program at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum will feature Professor Charles E. Richard at noon on Wednesday, November 1. Richard will lecture and show clips of the upcoming Bayou Bijou film “Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story.” This lecture will offer a lighthearted look at documentaries, “mockumentaries” and why movies can rightly be called “art made from costly chaos.”
Richard, associate professor of English, is the director of the new Cinematic Arts Workshop at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. As a writer and producer specializing in documentaries, his films have been shown nationally and recognized in several festivals, including the New York Independent Film and Video Festival.
The Brown Bag Lunch Program on the first Wednesday of every month at noon in the A. Hays Town Building at the Museum. This program offers a more expanded view and experience of current exhibitions and the arts through guest lectures, film presentations as well as guided walkthroughs in the exhibits.
Brown Bag Wednesdays are free and open to the public and guests are encouraged to bring lunch and enjoy the experience of spending time learning more about the arts with members of the Lafayette and University communities.
Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Town Building on Girard Park Drive as well as behind the UL Foundation building. For additional information on current and upcoming Brown Bag Programs contact (337) 482-1370 or visit museum.louisiana.edu.
