FOR IMMEDATE RELEASE Contact: Gabrielle Bindursky Lecture and Walkthrough of Exhibition at Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum Lafayette, September 28, 2006 - This month's Brown Bag Program will feature Hector Lasala, University of Louisiana at Lafayette Professor of Architecture. Professor Lasala will give a lecture on the work, practice and theory of architect, Samuel “Sambo” Mockbee this Wednesday in the A.HaysTown Building between 12 and 1p.m. Afterwards a walkthrough of the Mockbee Wall, located in the lobby of the Museum, will be held. The Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum partnered with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette School of Architecture and Design on a student installation, entitled “A Tribute to Samuel Mockbee: One Architect's Capacity to Care, to Notice, to Awe”, honoring the legacy and mission of architect Samuel “Sambo” Mockbee. Students in the architecture program were involved in every aspect of the exhibit from its conception to installation. The Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum is offering A Brown Bag Lunch Program on the first Wednesday of every month at noon in the A. Hays Town Building. Visitors are invited to bring a packed lunch or take-out while participating in the event. This program offers a more expanded view and experience of current exhibitions through guest lectures, film presentations as well as guided walkthroughs in the exhibits.
